Our Story

     Mineral Technologies, Inc. (“MTI”) is an oil and gas operating company that was founded in 1994. MTI primarily operates wells that are partly or wholly owned by affiliates of the MTI.  MTI also contract operates in special situations for various business associates.  These special situations can have varying business objectives that can tailored to the needs of the specific client.   

     One example of a tailored business relationship was that of a company that predominantly had non-operating interests but needed to remove an operator for a number of reasons. The number of wells and the timing requirements did not make economic sense to quickly ramp up the overhead costs of becoming an operator.  MTI operated the wells until the company amassed enough additional wells to justify bringing their operations in-house. 

      Another such example involved a company that acquired various assets that had to be operated, including a gas plant.  The company had no operating experience and never intended to staff up to manage operations and a gas plant.  MTI operated these assets for more than a decade while the client was free to manage strategic directions.  If at any time the client needed to go a different direction, MTI would step aside on relatively short notice. 

    One last example was MTI’s effort to operate the oil and gas assets of a complex bankruptcy estate. By becoming the operator, the bankruptcy estate was able to save tremendous amounts of overhead costs.  Key personnel were not lost and became part of the MTI team.  Again, when the client needed to sell the assets as part of the plan of reorganization, MTI stepped aside.

     These business partnering examples illustrate the broad range of capabilities within MTI across multiple producing regions, multiple types of operations (oil, gas, primary secondary, gas plants, etc.) and multiple regulatory environments (mineral fee, state, and federal).  First and foremost, this experience begins with field and engineering level expertise that ranges from basic lease operations to artificial optimization to complex downhole procedures to drilling supervision to gas plant operations.  Beyond technical operations, MTI has the depth of relationships with vendors, contract professionals, and regulators to manage complex operating relationships.   For its size, there are very few operators with as well rounded business experience as MTI.
